A few interesting things. 🧠
Boston: At Journey, we love working with transit agencies to think big, but we might appreciate the little details even more. So we were excited to spot this Reddit post showing that MBTA commuter rail departure boards at South Station now feature the next train to major intermediate stations. It’s a great way to highlight fast and frequent service between Downtown Boston and the Back Bay, Ruggles, and the South Shore - especially during the upcoming Red Line closure. 🚉
This Week in Bus News: Check out these dispatches from agencies pursuing bus electrification projects big and small, including a new (and mixed-use!) electric bus facility in Miami and a student-led project to install solar-powered transit info screens at UW-Madison. 🔌
Toolkit: CivicSearch is an index of public meeting transcriptions from across the United States and Canada - providing a quick way to survey public comments or find communities working through issues similar to your own. 🔍
And Beyond: Dan, Journey’s Transit Practice Lead, is always on the lookout for great dumplings. He is an avid follower of the Dumpling Hunter - a catalogue of dumpling reviews focused on New York and Philadelphia. 🥟
A quick Journey update. 👷♀️
