Lauren at ACT 2024 TDM Forum, lots of new DBE certifications, and some interesting links to start your week.

Welcome to The Weekly Journey - your two-minute journey through the world of mobility and beyond. Use it to stay informed, find a new go-to source, or just have a peek inside how we think. Brought to you by the team at Journey.

Most editions feature about five links to articles, videos, podcasts, or reports our team found interesting, occasionally accompanied by a quick update on what we’re building at Journey.

A few interesting things. 🧠

The Future of Work (Office Buildings Edition): Some case studies on successful office-to-residential conversions, via the Urban Land Institute. One key finding: “Most of the successful office-to-residential conversions to date are Class B and Class C buildings built in the 1960s and 1970s.”

Housing: A deep dive into how building codes restricting mid-rise single-stair residential development affects housing production in Massachusetts (and most of the United States).

Funding: A new report from New York City’s Federal Infrastructure Funding Task Force focuses how city agencies have collaborated to maximize federal grant funding opportunities. Bloomberg CityLab has a quick summary of the report.

Buses: Urban Transport Magazine has a quick dispatch from the 2024 FIAA trade show in Madrid, including a gallery of the latest in European bus models.

A quick Journey update. 👷‍♀️

DBE Certifications Update: Journey is now certified in 23 jurisdictions! We recently received M/WBE certification from the City and County of Denver, CO and have applications pending with LA Metro for SBE certification. Check out all of our certifications on the map below.
