#30: Jolene Holland Joins Journey to Launch Our Planner-Led Engagement Practice in Austin!

Welcome to The Weekly Journey - your two-minute journey through the world of mobility and beyond. Use it to stay informed, find a new go-to source, or just have a peek inside how we think. Brought to you by the team at Journey.

Jolene Holland joins Journey! ๐Ÿ“ข

Weโ€™re thrilled to announce that Jolene Holland is joining Journey to launch our planner-led engagement practice in Austin!

Jolene brings ten years of experience bridging technical planning expertise and sharp community instincts to craft innovative engagement strategies. At Journey, Jolene will lead our team to deliver a full suite of planner-led engagement services in Austin โ€“ from strategy, messaging, and graphics to meeting facilitation, pop-up events, and surveys.

Why planner-led engagement? Because when engagement is integrated into every project phase โ€“ from planning to design to construction โ€“ you get smarter, more effective outcomes. And when engagement strategy is directly connected to the technical work? You get outreach that moves people.

Whether itโ€™s light rail construction or major street redesigns, weโ€™re building engagement that supports real behavior change โ€” like using TDM messaging to boost Day One ridership or connecting feedback loops to safer street design.

At Journey, we believe technical insight and community connection go hand in hand. Jolene embodies that balance beautifully. Her background spans everything from equitable TOD to mobility strategy to inclusive public engagement โ€” all with a strong focus on building safer streets.
