A few interesting things. 🧠
🚶 Walkability: Transform Transport created a walking route planner for Milan that incorporates varying user experience preferences.
💸 Funding: Want to know more about how and where federal infrastructure funding is distributed? Check out this excellent new database and analysis from the Urban Institute.
🚲 ATL E-Bike Rebates: A recent report from the Atlanta Regional Commission found that e-bike rebate recipients average 40% fewer commuting trips by car (report PDF link).
🚂 Trains: A webinar focused on the recently released California State Rail Plan, which leveraged service-led planning to develop an efficient and effective infrastructure plan.
🚨New Transit Alert: This week, the MBTA is launching new commuter rail service from New Bedford and Fall River to Downtown Boston. Check out the rider’s guide from Streetsblog Mass. Our team took note of the MBTA’s use of shuttle trains with seamless transfers to increase the practical frequency of the service - one of a series of low cost, high reward strategies the agency is pursuing as it transitions from a commuter rail to a regional rail network.
