Welcome to The Weekly Journey - your two-minute journey through the world of mobility and beyond. Use it to stay informed, find a new go-to source, or just have a peek inside how we think. Brought to you by the team at Journey.
A few interesting things. 🧠
✨ Transit Rider Experience: UCLA reports findings from the first few years of LA Metro’s Transit Ambassador program. TransLink launched their Customer Experience Action Plan.
🚏 Bus Stops: New York MTA’s Automated Camera Enforcement program has reduced blocked bus stops by 40% - plus the number of tickets issued has declined significantly, suggesting drivers are quickly adjusting their behavior.
🚉 Station Access: BART just published the latest update to their Station Profile Study, which documents how people access rail stations throughout the Bay Area. This is a great resource for folks working on TOD policies, plans, and projects. We’d love to see more agencies create similar datasets (which BART has published since 1973!).
🏘️ Housing: Smart Cities Dive reports on Chicago’s Missing Middle Housing Initiative - make sure to click through the links in the article for more details.
The job board. 💪
Lots of great internship opportunities at Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning
